Threaded sleeves
Similar to spacer bolts, threaded sleeves can be used to seamlessly connect two components. The sleeve’s metric internal thread is at least twice as long as its internal diameter. Threaded sleeves to DIN 2986 or EN 10241 are available as seamless versions or with a seam and with chamfered or straight ends. Threaded sleeves are also called connector nuts, coupling nuts, long sleeves, long nuts, high nuts, high sleeves, connecting nuts, extension sleeves, extension nuts, round nuts, round sleeves or threaded sockets. However, these designations don’t always correspond exactly to the definition of threaded sleeves – for example, threaded sockets are thinner-walled.

TITAN offers threaded sleeves made of stainless steel, steel or brass with different thread sizes and lengths, as well as round or hexagonal versions to suit your project. Standard variants such as M8 and M10 threaded sleeves are available from stock – you can also order these from us in large quantities with short delivery times. In addition, we can make customized connecting sleeves in intermediate lengths for you on request.
Applications for threaded sleeves
Threaded sleeves were originally developed as hollow body components in pipe technology and metal construction, where they are used to connect threaded rods or pipes that convey water, compressed air or oil. The components are screwed into the female thread on the coupling sleeve. Some versions include an inspection hole that allows the correct screw-in depth to be checked. Threaded sleeves are also used as fastening elements in other trades, such as sanitation, air-conditioning and heating engineering, electrical engineering and plant construction. In industry, threaded sleeves – round, pressed standoffs with internal threads or spacer sleeves – are used in printed circuit board assembly to connect construction elements in a non-contact manner in order to prevent short-circuits. In addition, threaded sleeves are used for screw connections in the field of wood technology.
Spacer sleeves made of stainless steel 1.4401 additionally contain molybdenum. The material 1.4401 or AISI 316 is a commonly used chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel in the food and chemical industries.
