Drive-in anchors
Drive-in anchors are special fixings that can be driven into solid building materials such as concrete and natural stone with a dense structure. Also known as drop-in anchors or heavy-duty anchors, these fasteners are installed with a hammer or setting tool and feature an anchor sleeve that expands and tightens against the inner wall of the drill hole as they are driven into position. This creates an extremely secure, permanent anchorage for threaded rods, hooks or pipe clamps.

EU-approved drive-in anchors must meet the stringent requirements of the Construction Products Regulation with regard to safety-related criteria. Accordingly, the anchor point must not fail and pose a hazard to human life or health and/or cause significant economic damage.

Applications for drive-in anchors
EU-approved drive-in anchors for concrete are intended for use as single fixtures in non-cracked concrete. In cracked concrete, these anchors are approved for use as multiple fastenings for non-structural systems. Accordingly, they are used in many industries – for example, in the field of building services they are often used as fixtures for sprinkler systems, cable trays, brackets, pipe and ventilation ducts, grids, formwork supports and ceiling suspension systems. In addition, drive-in anchors are used to anchor diamond and core drilling equipment and other heavy machinery. There are also drive-in anchors with a shallow seat depth, which help to save time when drilling the borehole and thus enable efficient impact/pre-positioned installation.
